Gut by Frances Poet shortlisted for Writers' Guild Best Play Award

We're thrilled that Gut by the brilliant Frances Poet has been shortlisted for Best Play at the Writers' Guild Awards.

A taut, stop you in your tracks psychological thriller exploring who we can trust with our children, Gut  premiered in April and was the centrepiece of our Spring / Summer 2018 season. Produced in association with the National Theatre of Scotland, Gut  was the world premiere production of Frances Poet's debut full-length original play.

The Guardian said that the piece 'holds the audience spellbound'  (★★★★) while The Scotsman described the play as 'gripping, perfectly-structured, beautifully staged, and designed to ask fierce and vital questions'  (★★★★).

In addition to the Writers' Guild Award shortlisting, Gut was also shortlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting and Best New Play at the UK Theatre Awards.

Run by the Writers' Guild of Great Britain, The Writers' Guild Awards have been celebrating writers, and writing, since they launched in 1961.
