Development at the forefront of the Traverse

As is true of the Traverse's commitment to new work, this November sees the theatre taken over by emerging talent.

Bringing together home grown emerging theatre companies and artists Traverse Hothouse returns from 10 - 13 Nov, turning Traverse 2 into a breeding ground for new creations. Featuring work from Urban Fox (Heartlands) Heather Marshall (Wasting my Womb), Melanie Jordan & Caitlin Skinner, in association with Gunshow Theatre (At a Stretch) and Trig Point (Capital Converse), Traverse Hothouse will allow each company to share pieces of work at varying stages, welcoming critique and feedback to assist in further development.

With development in mind, Stellar Quines will present their 26th Rehearsal Room from 13 - 14 Nov, where new scripts and writers are presented to a live audience for the first time. Working on scripts from Lynda Radley, Pauline Lockhart, and a new translation into Scots/English by Molly Innes throughout the day, each piece and process will be opened to the audience in the evening where feedback will be invited from both writer and director.

Traverse Hothouse and Rehearsal Room: 26 both seek out and encourage the most vibrant and engaging voices of today, promising both events to be a wellspring of creativity from both emerging and established writers and theatremakers.
