CATS Shortlist Announced

As the Critics' Awards for Theatre in Scotland
2015 - 2016 shortlist is announced, the Traverse is delighted to
have been featured across a number of categories including a
nomination for Maureen Beattie as Best Female Performance for her
role as Juliette in our most recent co-production, Right Now by Catherine-Anne Toupin.
Alongside the Traverse's own productions, there are a number of
plays shortlisted that the theatre has had the honour of presenting
Produced by A Play, A Pie and A Pint Oran Mor
and presented by the Traverse Theatre, Descent by Linda Duncan McLaughlin
and Ring Road by Anita Vettesse have been
shortlisted in the Best New Play category, with each production
also receiving a nomination under Best Male and Best Female
A number of visiting companies, who have presented their work at
the Traverse have been nominated including Purposeless Movements (Best
Ensemble and Robert Softley Gale as Best Director), Magic Sho (Best Production
for Children and Young People), A Gambler's Guide to Dying (Best New
Play) and Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour (Best
Ensemble, Best Music and Sound, and Best Production).
Alongside the Traverse Theatre's own productions, and what has
been presented on the Traverse stage, it's great to see a number of
Traverse Associate Artists featured in the CATS 2015 - 2016
Associate Director Zinnie Harris' This Restless House has
been nominated and shortlisted in the Best New Production, Best New
Play and Best Female Performance category, with Associate Artists
Morna Pearson (Lost at Sea) and Rob Drummond's
(Uncanny Valley) pieces shortlisted in the Best Production
for Children and Young People.
