Bar Café Supervisor 

The Traverse Theatre seeks to appoint a Bar Café Supervisor to join our existing team and be responsible for the effective, efficient and profitable running of the Traverse Bar Café and Coffee Shop. 

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working in a busy bar café environment at supervisory and/or management level and have a proven track record of leading and motivating a small team of staff. Experience of computerised till systems is essential as are good computer skills, especially in the use of Microsoft Excel.

As well as your capacity to delegate and motivate team work you must also demonstrate your ability to work calmly and efficiently whilst under pressure. Your communication skills will be excellent dealing with people at all levels and you must possess a calm, professional and polite attitude at all times. A flexible attitude to shift patterns and availability is vital.

Festival Bar Café Attendant (temporary) 

The Traverse Theatre is looking for temporary Bar Café Attendants to join our existing team for the period of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Successful applicants will have experience of working in a busy bar café environment. With a can-do attitude you will be able to work calmly and efficiently whilst under pressure.  An ability to work and contribute as a member of a team is vital along with a commitment to excellent customer service. A willingness and ability to work flexibly is a must.

This is a temporary position from the end of July to 26 August 2018. There are no guaranteed minimum hours however we expect to be able to offer full-time hours including early morning, daytime, evening and weekend working.

Chef (temporary)

The Traverse Theatre is currently seeking to appoint a Temporary Chef to join our existing team and assist in the day to day running of our kitchen, producing a range of quality food for the Traverse Bar Café and Coffee Shop from June to late August 2018.

Candidates must have experience of working in a busy kitchen environment, food preparation, service and maintaining all kitchen areas and equipment to the highest standards of cleanliness along with a thorough knowledge of health & hygiene regulations.  Experience of supervising a small team of staff would be a definite advantage.  If you fit this description and are hardworking, reliable, with a keen interest in food then we are looking for you. 

This is a temporary position ending on 26 August 2018.  There are no guaranteed minimum hours.  Shifts will be agreed in advance and will include early mornings, evenings and weekends and we expect to be able to offer an average of 25-35 hours per week.

Kitchen Porter (temporary)

The Traverse Theatre is currently seeking to appoint two Temporary Kitchen Porters to join our existing team and assist in the day to day running of our kitchen, producing a range of quality food for the Traverse Bar Café and Traverse Coffee Shop.

Candidates must have experience of working in a busy kitchen environment, assisting with food preparation, maintaining all kitchen areas and equipment to the highest standards of cleanliness, along with a sound knowledge of health & hygiene regulations.  With the ability to work calmly whilst under pressure you will also possess excellent communication skills and a can- do attitude. If you fit this description and are hardworking, reliable, with a keen interest in food then we are looking for you.   

This is a temporary position ending on 26 August 2018.  There are no guaranteed minimum hours.  Shifts will be agreed in advance and will include early mornings, evenings and weekends and we expect to be able to offer an average of 20 hours per week.

Front of House Ushers (temporary)

The Traverse Theatre is currently seeking Front of House Ushers (Temporary) for the Fringe Festival 2018.

We expect to be able to offer around 35 hours plus on a weekly basis including weekend, daytime and evening work from late July/early August to 26 August 2018, although there are no guaranteed minimum hours.

If you have experience of working in a customer orientated environment, as part of a team, and have cash handling experience we could be looking for you.  Our ideal candidate will also have excellent communication and customer service skills and have a friendly, enthusiastic and courteous manner.
