We currently recruiting for the following positions:


We are currently looking to appoint Stage Crew for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe period in August.

Responsible for the get-ins, fit-ups, turnarounds and get-outs of all of productions and events at the Traverse Theatre.

As a team, the Crew will be responsible for the smooth turnarounds of all scenic aspects of the productions in both theatres (Traverse 1 and Traverse 2) and events in the rest of the building including but not limited to anything from dance floors, flats, flown scenery and revolves to stage decks, furniture and props.

These are very physical roles with a fair amount of lifting and carrying. A working knowledge of theatre is essential as is the ability to work under pressure.Please note: these are non-technical roles and are within the Stage department of the Theatre.

The crew will be made up of a team of 9 people who will report to the Crew Chief and ultimately the Head of Stage.

The working week will be 48 hours with one day off per week. Any additional hours will be paid at single time. Positions will run from 28th July to 26h August. This role is not suitable for anyone with other commitments during these periods.

Part-Time Chef

The Traverse Theatre is currently seeking to appoint a Part-Time Chef to join our existing team and assist in the day to day running of our kitchen, producing a range of quality food for the Traverse Bar Café and Traverse Coffee Shop.

Candidates must have experience of working in a busy kitchen environment, food preparation, service and maintaining all kitchen areas and equipment to the highest standards of cleanliness along with a thorough knowledge of health & hygiene regulations.  Experience of supervising a small team of staff would be a definite advantage. If you fit this description and are hardworking, reliable, with a keen interest in food then we are looking for you. 

We can offer an immediate start to the successful candidate. This is an open-ended position with a probationary period of six months. There are no guaranteed minimum hours. Shifts will be agreed in advance and will include early mornings, evenings and weekends and we expect to be able to offer an average of 16 - 20 hours per week.

Box Office Assistant (Temporary)

The Traverse Theatre is currently looking for an enthusiastic team worker to join our box office team, providing sales of tickets and merchandise with an emphasis on first class customer service. This position is available from 14th May to 26th August 2018. There are no guaranteed minimum hours, however we expect to be able to offer around 8-12 hours per week, rising to 35 hours per week during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.

The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator with experience of working as part of a team and in a customer orientated environment. With proven cash handling experience, accuracy and attention to detail are a must. Experience of working in a computerised box office environment and knowledge of Spektrix would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.
