With bold theatrical innovation and immersive world-building typical of Vanishing Point and Teater Katapult, What I’m Here For is a fast-moving fusion of new European writing and visual imagination, which explores the tragi-comic collateral of hospitals and human choices.
Flora stands on the roof, smoking. As the snow begins to fall, she reflects on the night just passed.
During her shift, Flora told a lie so convincingly that she frightened herself. Was she placing compassion before truth, or was she exposing a darkness within herself?
As lights flicker on and the city awakes, she travels back in time. Back to the chaos-fuelled, fluorescent-lit corridors of Ward 7. Back into the room of the girl she lied to.
Multilingual, with surtitles integrated into the design, What I’m Here For is an international collaboration created by the teams that brought you Confessions of a Shinagawa Monkey and The Insider.
