The Horsenecks carry the Appalachian stringband tradition forward with grit, grace, and powerful original voice.
Their sound is rooted in the driving rhythms of Old Time fiddle, banjo, guitar and the rich harmony singing tradition of the American south. With their latest album, "in the West" charting in the top ten Folk Alliance International Folk Charts, the Oregon based duo have earned praise on both sides of the Atlantic for their vibrant musicianship, deep connection to tradition and infectious onstage chemistry. The two multi-instrumentalists bring together their backgrounds in Old Time, early Bluegrass, Gospel and Country music to deliver a sound that is both timeless and fiercely alive. Audiences can expect an exhilarating and intimate evening of old and new music that bridges tradition and innovation, their songwriting and storytelling speaking to their place in the evolving story of traditional music.
The Horsenecks are part of the Traverse's £1 Ticket Project.
