Taking inspiration from the tent shows that roamed the American south in the 1930s, Nicole Smit and The Tenement Jazz Band present The Travelling Tent Show.

Nicole and the Tenement crew have banded together to re-envision the format for the European North in the 21st century. Enlisting special guests, Kat Brooks (The Phoenix Choir), Mike Kearney (Katet) and Vid Gobac to complete the team, this show aspires to immerse the audience in the spirit of joyous entertainment. Playing with a repertoire of popular music from an era before the jazz and blues genres were defined, this show is not a museum piece, it is a space where performers and audiences are joined together in a lot of music, a fair bit of dancing and a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek.
