Soundhouse - Noovision

Anoushka Nanguy (known as Noushy) has become an in-demand artist, building a name for herself in Glasgow with her own band NooVision,and also as co-leader of GLITCH41, as well as playing with the SNJOand Josef Akin. In the past year, she toured across Europe and Brazil, making appearances with various UK based bands. They include KOKOROKO, Alina Brezhinska’s Hip Harp Collective and the Nu Civilisation Orchestra.

Formerly known as the Noushy 4tet, Noushy has expanded her group to a quintet, introducing two incredible Glasgow-based musicians, Graham Costello on drums and Ewan Johnston on keys.

Noushy’s compositions try to explore and encapsulate what it means to be human, drawing on those connections that we form throughout our lives with one another in the hopes we have to try to better understand ourselves, as well as the fragile world that we are part of. Elements of jazz, hip hop, underground and Latin influences can be heard in her compositions; Noushy is crossing boundaries when it comes to defining genres - her main influences being human connection and nature. Noushy was the recipient of theRising Star Award in the 2020 Scottish Jazz Awards.
