About

Costume Showcase is a 45 minute fast moving catwalk style performance showcasing costumes designed and made by every year group on the course over 2022-23.

Amongst a string of amazing individual creations will be a set of Parisian Naughty 90’s costumes from ‘On the Razzle’; the ‘Gothic’ fantasies of Mervyn Peake’s world of Gormanghast; characters from the boisterous streets of17th Century London in Ben Johnson’s The Roaring Girl; and a hilarious handful of Panto Dames in outrageous out-fits.

The Costumes will be worn by students from across the QMU Performing Arts Department.

There will also be an Exhibition of personal work by our 2023 graduating cohort in the Traverse Bar area and an opportunity to buy prints and photos of the work in the show.

Celebrate the work of our amazingly talented students and congratulate those who are graduating on their achievements. See the work of the designers and constructors of the garments of tomorrow.

The Traverse Theatre is funded by Creative Scotland and The City of Edinburgh Council, and has received additional support from the Scottish Government's Performing Arts Venues Relief Fund and Creative Scotland’s Recovery Fund for Cultural Organisations.

If you have access requirements, please contact our Sales and Welcome Team on boxoffice@traverse.co.uk or 0131 228 1404 so we can arrange reserved seating for you and discuss how else we can best support your visit.
