About

A dynamic double bill from PASS’s BA Dance and Drama Students produced in partnership with Dance Base. Greater Than Themselves and Time Language have been devised and choreographed with artists Jack Webb and Kayla Collymore.

Working with dance, objects and technology, Greater Than Themselves is a moving and compelling work that explores themes of belonging, home and nature. How can the body, collectively and looking inside of our personal and collective selves bring us closer to each other, to nature and to a greater shared sense of belonging?

Time Language will analyse the strange and enigmatic phenomenon of meaningful coincidence, known as synchronicity. Inspired by the insights of psychologist Carl Jung, the dancers dive into the archetypes of the collective unconscious and explore how the path to self-realisation can be found in knowledge beyond our current comprehension.

The work is the result of an intensive collaborative process with Edinburgh College’s emerging undergraduate artists.

PASS Double Bill: Greater Than Themselves and Time Language is part of the Traverse's £1 Ticket Project.
