About

What does it feel like to have faith, to hold power, to find community? Disciples is a joyful, dynamic performance that comes to life through a blend of music, movement, text and image - led by poetry.

Devised by an ensemble cast of women and non-binary people who identify as D/deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent, the show is a powerful act of collaboration which places often-ignored stories at the centre of its world.

The Traverse Theatre is funded by Creative Scotland and The City of Edinburgh Council.

Access information

All performances audio described, captioned and will include creative use of BSL performed by a member of the cast throughout.

Saturday 7 October at 2.30pm is a relaxed performance. The evening performance at 7.30pm will be a dedicated mask-wearing performance.

Our relaxed performances are for anyone who would benefit from watching the show in a more informal and laid-back environment.

Disciples will be an intimate and tender experience for cast and audience members alike, and looks to welcome those with their own experience of visual impairment, deafness and disability into the space to share in stories that are too often overlooked by theatre and dance.

Please see here for full information about the access provisions available for these performances.

If you have access requirements, please contact our Sales and Welcome Team on boxoffice@traverse.co.uk or 0131 228 1404 so we can arrange reserved seating for you and discuss how else we can best support your visit.
