About

4PLAY is back with their annual new writing event.

On the back of a successful Fringe Festival run with Mikey Burnett’s award winning Colours Run, 4PLAY brings you four starts to four new plays. Our playwrights will present the first quarter of their play to be seen by audiences for the first time. Where else could they lead? Come along for a glimpse of the beginning of four thrilling new pieces from four of Scotland’s exciting writing talents. Championing Scottish writers and local talent 4PLAY’s new writing events bring you an evening of laughter, guts and grit, telling stories from the edges of society.

But have they got what it takes to prolong life, or are they crashing even faster towards the end of it? A dark comedy about the end of the world, and who you should spend it with.

Sunday Palms by Sean Langtree

A man unexpectedly turns up at his old classmates flat, having not seen each other for over ten years. The end is apparently near for him, but what exact ending is it that he wants?

BRACE by Geraldine Lang

At seventeen, Paul and Lewis are apprentices learning the scaffolding trade, long days, hard graft and earning under minimum wage. Paul’s girlfriend Jodie is expecting a baby; Lewis is saving to get as far away as he can. When they find out only one of them will be kept on at the end of the month, their friendship starts to crack under the strain.
