What is Class Act On Tour?

Class Act on Tour is an expansion of the Traverse’ flagship education project, Class Act. It’s a model that the Traverse have been using for over 30 years to inspire young people to become incredible storytellers. Class Act On Tour will see us put Scotland’s best theatre-makers in classrooms across the country to work with young people to build stories that we’ll then bring to the stage with a team of talented professionals.

Who’s working on Class Act On Tour?

We’ve had world class theatre professionals work on Class Act time and time again and we train up a group of phenomenal facilitators each time we do the project. Playwrights such as Nicola McCartney, James Ley, and Douglas Maxwell as well as directors such as Caitlin Skinner, Jemima Levick, Lorne Campbell and actors such as Fionn Whitehead, Reuben Joseph and Greg McHugh have contributed to the last 30 years of Class Act!

What will Class Act On Tour achieve?

Class Act on Tour will let us give more opportunities to young people across Scotland to work with some of the best theatre-makers in the UK. We will provide teachers, schools and young people arts-based learning experiences and connect them to their local cultural hubs. The Traverse is so excited to be able to connect with young people, educators and artists from across the country and to bring this celebrated project to even more participants.
