Festival Technician (temporary)

The Traverse Theatre seeks experienced Technicians from 21 July 2025 for the duration of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

As part of our Festival LX Crew, the Festival Technician will assist in the operation and smooth turnaround of shows In Traverse 1 and Traverse 2 during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival period. The Festival LX Crew will report to the Head of Lighting & Sound.

This role is only suitable for applicants with experience of working in professional theatre in a technical role. To be considered for this post you should have proven abilities in: rigging and focussing of lanterns; programming and operating ETC desks; and a knowledge of QLab and general sound set up. Excellent time management is essential as well as the ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and delegate appropriately. This role is a physical one with a certain amount of lifting and carrying. If you have all this and are a team player with a positive, can-do attitude then we would like to hear from you.

The working week will be 48 hours with one day off per week. Should you choose to agree to work in excess of 48 hours per week, overtime will be payable at single time. This choice is optional and you will not be asked to work more than 48 hours per week without your agreement. The role will run from 21 July - 26 August 2025. This role is not suitable for anyone with other festival commitments.
