The Traverse Theatre is looking for an experienced, creative and proactive Development Manager to lead the operational aspects of the Traverse fundraising activity.

Typical duties include: 

  • Lead day to day delivery and development of our income generation activity
  • Contribute and reinforce integrated communications strategy to reinforce audience/stakeholder development and income generation
  • Effectively manage fundraising budgets and targets
  • Create and maintain a compelling case for support to increase income across a diverse range of sources
  • Communicate powerfully with all stakeholders
  • Lead the development and delivery of donor stewardship and engagement programme
  • Provide leadership, guidance and fundraising expertise across the organisation, fostering a collaborative approach to income generation and engagement.

We would love to hear from you if you feel you have the following experience and expertise:

Experience of developing successful funding applications; a proven record of securing funds; experience of working within the arts and of working collaboratively with a team and across an organisation. In addition we are looking for someone who is: able to support and develop relationships across funders and stakeholders; has outstanding organisation skills and time-management; is an effective collaborator and active contributor and an impactful and persuasive communicator with proven skills in prospect research.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a probationary period of 6 months.  Rate of pay is £36,000-£41,000 per annum, dependent on experience.  Hours of work are 40 hrs per week over 5 day; hours may include evening and weekend working. Annual leave entitlement is 32 days per annum, including public holidays.  We also offer an auto-enrolment pension scheme with contributions matched at 4%.
