Choose dates & BookAbout
The Nexus Project is an exploration of contemporary and ancient Highland Bagpipe music through original compositions and arrangements by Bede Patterson.
Surveying the inextricable links between early and modern bagpipe performance and repertoire. As Scotland’s ‘fusion music’ scene continues to thrive, this project is an exciting addition to the cross-genre environment. It is a genuine intersection of jazz, classical, and traditional folk music styles. The band features the creative and experimental contributions of Bede Patterson (bagpipes and voice), Dean Garrity (soprano saxophone), Ewan Johnston (keys and synths), and Roan Anderson (drums).
The band’s new album Glaisvair has some very exciting guest musicians which is part of the ‘Nexus ethos’, bringing together different musical voices from around the world. Guest artists include Ross Ainslie (Scottish, low whistle),William Barton (indigenous Australian, didgeridoo), and Vahideh Eisaei (Persian/Australian, qunan).
