£1 Tickets was inspired by the life and passion of the late Martin Currie, a renowned Traverse audience member and long-term supporter - regularly spotted for his distinct and striking suits!

Martin strongly believed in the work of the Traverse and the power of live theatre, so he sought to share it with as many people as possible, including those who may not have been to our theatre before.

In celebration of his memory, Martin's friends channelled this enthusiasm for sharing theatre and generously collected funds to kick-start the £1 Ticket project at the Traverse. Through their support, we hope to ensure Martin's legacy of giving the gift of theatre can continue inspiring new audiences, breaking down barriers to access and supporting a new generation of theatre-goers.
