About

A homage to all the “things that never happened but always are”.

The Salon of Dystopian Curiosities is an unabashed dive into the deepest recesses of our imaginations. It is a space to explore how the strange forces of our inner worlds collide with curious tales of our times.

The session will consist of a series of prompts, provocations, and guided explorations, alongside (non-mandatory) opportunities for exchange to send participants energised and refreshed into an evening writing session. A list of short preparation activities will be circulated in advance of this session; however, this is also isn't mandatory.

Hosted by Uma Nada-Rajah, the Traverse's Writer in Residence 2021.

This event is part of our First Stages Festival 2021 - a celebration of storytelling and playwriting.

The Traverse Theatre is funded by Creative Scotland and The City of Edinburgh Council, with additional support from The Scottish Government Performing Arts Venues Relief Fund.
