About

A coming of age story about sex, power dynamics, and classroom rumours, ‘Red Tape’ follows a group of young people on the cusp of the rest of their lives. They just need to survive their A-level Politics exam, first.

As the pressure of A-levels looms and the outside world is rocked by political sex scandals, the friction within the classroom begins to ignite. A private moment at a party is weaponised and secrets are traded like currency. Kitty, Meg, Harry and Felix must confront the reality of their own reputations in a world that never stops recording. And Mr Ricks just needs everyone to concentrate.

As university reaches in with an outstretched hand, these classmates face the inevitable departure from their well-trodden hallways and earmarked textbooks. Though some may wish to forget their chaotic school years, some stains are just impossible to wash out.

Red Tape: A Staged Reading is part of the Traverse's £1 Ticket Project.
