About

Something’s wrong. Baby Mash-up knows there’s something adrift, but she can’t pin it down.

There’s something off about the way her family gather for dinner, about the bombs that may or may not be going off outside and about the feeling that history is closing in on her. The seams of time and space are splitting, and she wants to figure out what’s going on and, most importantly, how she ended up here.

This is both Troubles-era Ireland and also really, really not; this is a field, a laundrette, an ocean and a bingo hall, a night sky. This is a question about how we make sense in a time when our private myths and stories no longer feel true, and how sometimes the ordinary can fuse with the extraordinary to reveal a new reality. Come along for the ride. There’ll be tap dancing. Naturally.
