Stoirm Òg  (in co-production with Cumbernauld Theatre)

"Your dignity – I’ve been trying to save
Your hypocrisy – I’ve been trying to conceal
    to right your wrongs
and sing the songs of managing strife
    but life
    is no horse-taming
    woman-shaming
    system-blaming picnic.
    And I’m the Heidbummer today."

Inspired by the bothy ballads of the North East, playwright Elspeth Turner shares a haunting story of three employees in a present-day Aberdonian charity shop attempting to create order from the chaos in each of their lives and histories. Weaving past and present, Doric and song, this play wrestles with tradition, power, gender, and the loneliness of modern urban life.
