O full of scorpions is my mind, dear wife.

At the heart of Shakespeare’s darkest play is a disintegrating marriage. This new adaptation using a radically cut version of the text focuses on the destructive relationship between the ambitious couple.

First performed in 2017, this brutal and intense production by the Citizens Theatre’s Artistic Director Dominic Hill tells the Bard’s famous story in a powerfully concentrated 70 minutes.

Charlene Boyd, whose electric performance in the original production earned her a Critics’ Awards for Theatre in Scotland nomination, returns to the cast. She is joined by Lucianne McEvoy in the role of Macbeth.
