The Edinburgh Guitar Night is the premier event for showcasing guitarists of all genres in the city, presenting acclaimed artists from Scotland, the UK and the rest of Europe.

    HAYTHEM

Haythem is a weird one. It's a mix of expert guitar playing, loops, live electronic production, and rather peculiar stand up comedy, in which he often reveals a little too much about himself. Expect a really unique show, full of honest talking, uniquely talented guitar playing and great music.

Haythem, from Newcastle, was a finalist on the second series of Sky Arts' Guitar Star, where he performed in front of guitar legend George Benson, legendary producer Tony Visconti, and classical virtuoso Miloš.

    STRING NINJAS

What do you get when you combine the virtuosity of a classically trained violinist with the groove and hard hitting bass of a self-taught fingerstyle guitarist? One answer would be complete and utter madness, the other being the instrumental musings of the one and only String Ninjas!

Formed in early 2017 in Belfast by Gavin Ferris (Guitar) and Mick Conlon (Violin) after a duet at a birthday party for Mick’s father, the Irish duo hit the ground running and have amazed audiences with their upbeat, fresh live performances which include whitty banter, self-depreciation, alcohol and of course the odd song or two. With these guys no genre is safe as they judo fling, karate toss and, in some rare cases, even schezwan chuck through a plethora of the best music that the world has to offer.

    VINCENT GAUCHOT

French-born Edinburgh-based fingerstyle guitarist Vincent Gauchot defines his own musical world by exploring every possibility offered by his instrument. His compositions blend intricate melodic lines intertwined with tapping and percussive techniques, aiming to narrate intimate stories and convey deep emotions through music only. More than just a musical experience, Vincent makes each of his shows unique by wrapping his whole performance with personal anecdotes and stories behind his compositions. Having a solid amount of original material, he has recorded two solo albums and is currently working on a third opus. An experienced live player, Vincent's accomplishments include taking first place at the 2010 Montreal Guitar Grand Prix, and being awarded the Norman-Quinney Medal during the 2016 Edinburgh Competition Festival.
