Traverse Young Writers starts next week

*Please note that due to the severe weather conditions, the first session of Traverse Young Writers has been postponed by a week. The course will now kick off on Mon 12 Mar, 7 - 9 pm.* 

In keeping with the Traverse's ethos of supporting and nurturing new talent, Traverse Young Writers is aimed at 18-25 year-olds who wish to develop their playwriting skills. It offers the opportunity to be part of a creative network, where aspiring playwrights can discuss, debate and create great new work.

The Spring/Summer Season of the course begins on Mon 12 Mar, 7 - 9pmTraverse Young Writers will participate in one-off workshops with 5 leading professional playwrights.  Alongside the writing workshops, there will be a development session lead by the Traverse Theatre Literary & Artistic Team.

Confirmed tutors; Oliver Emanuel (The 306: DawnDragon),  Adura Onashile (Expensive Shit), Kieran Hurley (Heads Up), Frances Poet (AdamGUT) and Clare Duffy (Money the Game Show).

Those attending will develop a short piece of work with the support of the Traverse Team that will be professionally directed and performed as part of a script-in-hand Scratch Night, on Sat 12 May, 8pm.

The cost of a 10-week course of Traverse Young Writers is £90. The Traverse is able to offer a limited number of bursaries covering the majority of the course fees for those unable to pay.  To book, please contact the Traverse Box Office on 0131 228 1404.
