Open Submissions Workshop #7: Writing with, and Representing Disability

News 24 Jun 2020

'Your responsibility as a storyteller is to represent the world and the people in it.'

Matilda Ibini (Little Miss Burden) and Natasha Sutton Williams (Lesbian Pirates) talk about how you can approach research, character development and representation for disabled characters and performers.

Open Submissions Workshops is a free 16-week course led by playwrights and theatremakers that will support you - and fellow aspiring writers - to unleash your creativity and take you from idea to draft.

There's no signup required but to get the episodes as soon as they're released each Wednesday, subscribe to our Youtube channel or Spotify podcast. For those of you who may want to work on your ideas for a little longer, all sessions once live will be available to view and listen to at any point until 1 September 2021.

We're only able to offer this course for free thanks to support from you, our audience. If you'd like to help us support more aspiring writers, you can make a donation to the Traverse below.

We hope you enjoy these workshops and look forward to reading your pieces!
