CATS Nominees Announced

Nominations for the prestigious Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland are in today, and we're delighted to say that The Salon Project has been nominated under two categories: Best Production and Best Technical Presentation.

Astonishing...one of the most complete immersive theatre experiences ever conceived. **** The Scotsman

Our co-production with Untitled Projects took place at the Traverse over two weeks in October 2011, where the Theatre's main house was transformed into a simulation of an opulent Parisian salon. The audience played a central role in the event each evening, and were dressed in period costume, specially sourced by the production team from the wardrobe departments of some of Scotland's most iconic theatres.

A quite extraordinary theatrical experiment...genius. **** The Daily Telegraph

The Salon Project was devised by then Traverse Artist in Residence Stewart Laing, a Tony award winning designer and director who also directed Ten Plagues, starring Marc Almond, for the Traverse. His Glasgow based theatre company, Untitled Projects has produced groundbreaking work, including Pamela Carter's  An Argument About Sex and  Slope

Extraordinary, intellectually provocative and tremendously good fun. **** The Guardian
