Front of House Team Festival 2022

The Traverse Theatre is currently looking for temporary Front of House staff to join our Festival Team in August 2022 delivering exceptional customer service and meeting the needs of a wide range of customers during our exciting and busy Festival period.

Typical duties include:

  • To work all rostered shifts in Front of House or Bar staff capacities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all of our patrons and partners
  • Scan tickets and assist patrons where required
  • Be responsible for safe evacuation of patrons in the event of an emergency
  • Serve drinks to patrons
  • Ensure all public areas, including bar and theatre spaces are clean, tidy and re-stocked
  • Check merchandise floats and stocks and present accurate cash up to Duty Manager

We are ideally looking for someone with proven experience of working in a customer orientated environment, especially if you have knowledge of general Front of House procedures. You must have excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to think on your feet. You must be an engaged team player and problem-solver with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

This is a temporary position for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival period during August 2022. You should also be available to attend a paid training day on 20 July 2022. There may be a possibility to extend the employment beyond August 2022.

Hours of work are variable and may include daytimes, evenings and weekends. Shifts are arranged in advance. There are no minimum guaranteed hours but we do require commitment from you to attend allocated shifts.

There is a paid annual leave entitlement equivalent to 32 days per annum (including public holiday entitlement). The Traverse also operates a contributory auto-enrolment pension scheme with Traverse matched contributions at 4%.
