Below we hope we've covered most questions and queries people have during the Traverse Young Writers application process.

If you don’t see your question answered here, then get in contact our Literary Associate, Eleanor White at writing@traverse.co.uk.

Who should apply for Traverse Young Writers?

Maybe you’ve never considered writing for theatre before. Maybe you’re sitting on a story that’s about to burst out of you but you don’t know how to make it come alive on paper. Maybe you aren’t seeing yourself represented in Scottish theatre. Traverse Young Writers is for you.

How will I know you’ve received my application?

Once you submit your application form through Submittable, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email to let you know that we’ve received it. Please check your junk folders in case our email ended up there

When will I hear from you after I’ve submitted my application?

We will be in touch with all applicants, whether or not we are able to offer them a place. We’re aiming to respond to all applicants by Friday 11 September.

Can I have feedback on my application if I’ve been unsuccessful?

As we’re currently a small team, unfortunately, we aren't able to offer feedback on applications at the moment.

Will there be any opportunities for the cohort to meet up in person, during or after the course?

Hopefully! We’ll keep a close eye on government guidance to see what might be possible.
