Traverse Young Writers

Traverse Young Writers

Traverse Young Writers is aimed at 18-25 year olds who wish to develop their playwriting skills. It offers the opportunity to be part of a creative network, where aspiring playwrights can discuss, debate and create great new work.

This season, the Traverse Young Writers will participate in a series of intensive playwriting workshops with award winning playwright, May Sumbwanyambe. May is an Associate lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University and a Teaching Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, currently working across stage, screen and radio.

These workshops shall be supported by further sessions with the Traverse Artistic Team, developing understanding of the unique processes of staging new work.  The course will culminate in a one-to-one dramaturgy session with a member of the Traverse Reading panel.

Dates & times
Starts Mon 24 Sep, 7-9pm

The course will run for 9 consecutive weeks on Monday evenings. The final session shall be a bookable 1-2-1 slot.

The cost of a 10-week course of Traverse Young Writers is £90. The Traverse is able to offer a limited number of bursaries covering the majority of the course fees for those unable to pay.
