Send us your writing
While the majority of work we produce at the Traverse is
commissioned by the artistic department, we are always on the look
out for new talent. If you have a strong theatrical voice, we want
to hear for you.
You can send us your writing at any time in the year as an
unsolicited script through our online submissions
manager.
How do I submit a script?
In order to become greener and more efficient in managing your
scripts, we are now operating a digital only script submission
policy.
If this is not possible for you contact Catherine Makin catherine.makin@traverse.co.uk0131
228 3223 to arrange an alternative method.
What happens when you send us your script?
When we have received your play, we will send you an
acknowledgement via email if you include an email address with your
submission. This is done when the scripts are processed (usually
within a month of receipt.)
Next, the play is read by a member of the artistic team, or by a
member of our Script Reading Panel, who then reportson the play to
the core members of the artistic team.
You will then receive a letter from us, where relevant, with
feedback and details of any further involvement that might be
possible with the theatre.
Other ways of getting your writing seen and heard
Another way of sending us your writing is by submitting a short
play for Words, Words, Words. It's a hybrid of
a performance, a reading and a workshop where writers of all ages
and levels of experience are invited to send short scripts (5-10
minutes in length) for consideration up to two weeks before the
performance date.
