Traverse Theatre Company in association with Peepolykus
World Premiere
Just because you don't believe in ghosts, Holmes, doesn't
mean they don't exist.
Who, really, was the man behind Sherlock Holmes?
This December, we are gathering for a very special presentation
about Arthur Conan Doyle - one of Edinburgh's most famous authors,
from the experts.
Well they are meant to be experts, but the highland tour has
been a disaster and now strange things are happening at the
Traverse.
The Arthur Conan Doyle Appreciation Society is a
riotous comedy that hurtles from particle physics to fairies and
the supernatural. Expect something truly different at the Traverse
this Christmas.
The joyfully anarchic Peepolykus have toured
worldwide, with recent productions selling out in the West End,
Lyric Hammersmith and Liverpool Playhouse. They once again team up
with Traverse Artistic Director Orla O'Loughlin following their
box-office record smashing show, The Hound of the
Baskervilles.
The Arthur Conan Doyle Appreciation Society follows
last year's sell out Traverse Christmas show about David Hume and
Adam Smith, The Tree of Knowledge. We're
delighted to once again bring one of Edinburgh's best loved figures
back to life for a seasonal celebration.
