Joining the Club

The Traverse has come a long way since 1963; opening its doors as a 60 seat Theatre Club on the Lawnmarket, then moving to a former warehouse and sail-makers' loft in the Grassmarket in 1969, before alighting at our current, purpose-built home in Saltire Court,  Cambridge Street in 1992. Our location may have changed, but the foundations our work is built on have not.  The Traverse's commitment to producing the very best of new writing continues undiminished.  To celebrate our rich heritage, The Traverse Theatre Club is back - with a 21st Century twist. 

Why don't you join The Club and be part of our extraordinary journey into the cultural unknown?

Your membership fees will:

• Contribute directly towards the costs of at least one Traverse Theatre Company production every year.  This production will be acknowledged as "supported by the Traverse Theatre Club". 
• Enable hundreds of young people to learn the art of playwriting through our Traverse Learning work.

Traverse Theatre Club annual membership levels

Lawnmarket - £500

• Your name or dedication on a seat in Traverse 2 (worth £500 alone)
• Exclusive access to Traverse dress rehearsals, meet the cast events
• Invitations to the Artistic Director's preview of the season and to Traverse season launch parties and other special events
• Complimentary tickets for opening nights of Traverse Theatre Company productions and pre-performance reception
• Priority booking & reserved seating in our normally unreserved auditorium
• Complimentary backstage tour
• Your name or dedication in our season brochures and printed playscripts

• Discounts on food and coffee in the Traverse Bar Café as well as Traverse merchandise including t-shirts and playscripts

Arts Membership - £5

Available in person at the box office, join the Traverse Theatre Club for only £5 if you work in the Arts.

Under 26 Membership - £5

Available in person at the box office, join the Traverse Theatre Club for only £5 if you are under 26.
