SHOWS

When a curious creature scuttles into the Bishop family's house, they have no idea how to get rid of it. Eating plates, trapping them in their drawing room for weeks and throwing their favourite possessions into a pond, it holds them prisoner in their own home. Vividly theatrical and uniquely fantastical, this creepily comic tale of mischief and disruption will delight children and adults alike. For fifteen years, Hoipolloi have been probing the darkest, funniest corners of their gloriously surreal imagination. Now the award- winning Edinburgh Fringe favourites return with an invitation to the deliciously dark world of cult author and illustrator Edward Gorey.
Fusing the spectral sounds of a haunting original score with unforgettably energetic performances, this is a show to make you laugh, shudder and lock your door extra tight on a wild, wintry night!
Produced by arrangement with The Edward Gorey Charitable Trust. Supported by Escalator East to Edinburgh. Originally produced in association with Watford Palace Theatre.
