Freshmess were founded by Stirling born dancers Allan Irvine and Wallace Sulley as a way of creating performance opportunities. The focus of the company is their shared interest in hip hop dance styles and professional training in contemporary dance resulting in a new and accessible form of movement.

Maintain is a humorous and energetic collaboration between Allan Irvine’s choreography and hip hop producer S B that examines how we fix things that aren’t broken and how we look after ourselves and others. For the first time Freshmess has invited choreographer Frank McConnell to make a new piece using music by Martyn Bennett. It will explore connections between modern street culture and traditional Scottish culture.

Sweetly orchestrated dance that reveals the precision, intricacy and invention that has moved in from the streets and on to the stage (THE HERALD)

Lyrical flow of contemporary dance without sacrificing the raw edge of hip hop gymnastics is hugely impressive (THE SCOTSMAN)
