PERFORMED READING
The crisis may be over, the story losing its news value, but lives have been changed forever.
Can Duncan and Phyllis survive the devastating effects of foot and mouth on Dumrigg Farm in South West Scotland?
This is not a rural idyll, it's gritty rural realism.
Cally Phillips lives on a farm in Dumfries and Galloway, a region devastated by foot & mouth in 2001. This play is an observation and tribute to the many people whose lives were changed irrevocably, and whose real stories may never be told.
Men In White Suits is the first public reading resulting from a new initiative between the Traverse and Dumfries & Galloway Arts Association., where Cally Phillips is Dramatist In Resident. Previous stage plays include Love Is An Urban Myth, Kirkcudbright's Light and We Wove A Web In Childhood.
