An exhilarating and diverse triple bill performance of dance.
David Hughes Dance is proud to present a triple bill that features two world premieres: a new dance work by Tanja Liedtke Imploded: Une Rêverie Romantique and a collaborative hybrid commission by David Hughes, along with the revival of critically acclaimed pure dance commission [4:Freeze-Frame] by Rafael Bonachela.
Imploded: Une Rêverie Romantique is a contemporary study of Les Sylphides, the first abstract classical ballet without narrative, structure or defined characters, choreographed by Michael Fokine and first performed in Paris in 1907. Tanja Liedtke, former dancer with Australian Dance Theatre and DV8 Physical Theatre has created several works for Australian Dance Theatre IGNITION seasons, as well as choreographing works in Brazil, Germany, and Taipei.
David Hughes’ new work Matt’s Lost His Groove: Two Men…One Motorcycle…
[4:Freeze-Frame] by award winning former Rambert dancer Bonachela (Director of Bonachela Dance Company and choreographer to Kylie Minogue) was commissioned by David Hughes Dance and Dance Base for the 2005 World Premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe.
David Hughes is an internationally acclaimed dancer who has worked with London Contemporary Dance Theatre, Rambert Dance Company, Adventures in Motion Pictures, Siobhan Davies Dance Company, DV8, X Factor Dance Company, as well as performing solo commissions by leading dance makers Robert Cohan, Christopher Bruce, Siobhan Davies, Wayne McGregor, Javier De Frutos and Pit Fong Loh.
