Fringe First Award Winner 2006

Travel with the TEAM to a Kansas farm where parents vanish, aliens grow in cornfields, New Yorkers fall from the sky, and dead presidents stop by for Christmas dinner. A place where being born again seems like a good idea, and the possibility exists that one day we might really mean it when we say the Pledge of Allegiance.

This is a play about losing sight of America and trying to fall back in love with it. With music and soil, a touch of magic from the land of Oz, and a little help from the ghost of Robert F. Kennedy, Particularly in the Heartland tells the story of a family and country shattered and rebuilt with the humour, passion and athleticism that characterizes the TEAM.

The TEAM were 2005 Fringe First Award Winners for Give Up! Start Over! (In the darkest of times I look to Richard Nixon for hope) and also shortlisted for The List’s 2005 Best Newcomer Award for A Thousand Natural Shocks.

The Heartland TEAM are Jessica Almasy, Rachel Chavkin, Jill Frutkin, Brian Hastert, Jake Heinrichs, Matt Hubbs, Libby King, Jake Margolin, Chantal Pavageaux and Kristen Sieh.

A bizarre, quirky and cynical production with excellent performances... I left the theatre with a sense that The TEAM are definitely on to something here, even if I’m not sure what that something is!
(bbc.co.uk)

In the Best Newcomer category the youthful, dynamic and courageous The TEAM from New York have been a real revelation... a theatre of ideas and excitement.

The TEAM... a world that has gone gloriously mad.
