Each of the stories is beautifully written and told, in the understated, earthy, retro-British style Kitson has made his own; his skill as a performer is absolutely formidable, an object lesson in unforced vocal skill, and depth of rapport with the audience... he represents and inhabits that place where no-one is cool, sussed, glamorous and sorted, and everyone is struggling, somewhere between absurdity and pathos, to put together a life less barren, and more fulfilled. |
