Formed in 1998 by choreographer, dancer and teacher Fin Walker, Walker Dance is at the forefront of the British contemporary dance scene, showing work both internationally and nationally. Fin’s highly individual way of working creates dance with a distinctive, vivid and rigorous style, finding new movement patterns that are both direct, gimmick free and hugely enjoyable.
There is no ‘message’ to get, no ‘correct’ interpretation, no right or wrong response, through its vigorous craftsmanship and beauty the work is enjoyed equally by dance aficionados and newcomers to the dance scene. Extraordinary live music by Ben Park is a hallmark of the company along with the exceptional quality of the dancers.and in 1999 Fin Walker won the highly coveted Jerwood Choreography Award.
