The Traverse Theatre is committed to providing varied, unique
and exciting engagement opportunities for all audiences and
artists. Our Engagement programme exists to excite and
involve audiences, introduce new skills, develop existing skills,
ask questions, explore answers and to get people thinking outside
of the box!
The Traverse Theatre Engagement programme aims to bring as many
people as possible within the walls of our theatre, offering
opportunities to schools, colleges, universities, new audiences,
artists and professionals.
We run a series of events throughout the year, targetted at
school pupils and teachers, including Class Act - our flagship education programme
through which pupils are introduced to playwriting skills and given
the opportunity to showcase their work on the Traverse stage.
In-house we host several different workshops that aim to
introduce people of all ages and stages to playwriting or to allow
existing playwrights to hone their skills. These include Scribble for 14-18
year olds, Traverse Young Writers for 18-25
year olds and The Playwrights' Toolkit.
With a mixture of projects, workshops, events and resources, led
by the professional theatre makers you see on our stage, we aim to
enhance the artistic programme for all of our audiences.
